Clara Hill meets Atjazz – Nowhere (I Can Go) (Aquatone Dub)

Few records earn a permanent place in a DJ’s bag, but “Nowhere (I Can Go)”, produced by Atjazz and featuring Clara Hill’s unmistakable vocals, did exactly that following its original release in 2006. The track became a firm favourite among soulful house lovers across Europe and particularly in South Africa, where its reputation grew through dancefloors, record collections and word of mouth.

South African DJ and producer Da Capo had long been connected to the record. Years later, working under his Aquatone alias, he created an unofficial rework that began making its way through DJ sets. A conversation with Kid Fonque at Stay True Sounds eventually brought the track into the label’s catalogue, giving it the official release it deserved.

Aquatone takes the original into deeper, dubbed-out territory while keeping the soul and musicality that made it such a special record in the first place.
