Stay True Sounds opens the next chapter of its compilation series with RoneeDeep & WAPO Jije’s “Memories”, the lead single from Stay True Sounds Vol. 8 Sampler Vol. 1.
Curated by Kid Fonque, the series has always been about discovering new sounds and showcasing South Africa’s exciting house music talent. “Memories” fits right in, starting with a smooth, soulful, almost gospel-like South African feel before the breaks take the track somewhere unexpected. As it builds, the whole thing opens up for the dancefloor.
WAPO Jije has been part of the Stay True Sounds family since Housing You, while RoneeDeep brings a fresh production perspective to the label. Together, they’ve created a track that captures what the compilation series is all about: experimentation, discovery and house music that moves.
